IS THERE A WAY TO AUTOMATICALLY HAVE PATIENT ROOM PHONES TO TURN OFF, WITH OUT THE OPERATOR HITTING THE KEY ON THE CONSOLE.

is this the sort of thing you want

Make Set Busy
This feature can be assigned to a key on a digital set. When the key is pressed, it will cause any calls to a single appearance DN (a DN that appears only on one set) to receive busy tone. Calls to a multiple appearance DN (a DN that appears on more than one set) will still flash the lamp associated with the DN key but will not cause the audible ringer on the set to sound. This feature thus provides a "Do Not Disturb" facility typically for use whilst a meeting is in progress.

The MSB mnemonic is assigned to a key on a digital set.

WE HAVE OUR PATIENT PHONES ON DO NOT DISTURG GROUPS, AND AT 10:00 P.M. THE OPERATOR'S HIT THE DND KEY AND ALL INCOMING CALLS FOR PATIENT ROOMS ARE DIVERTED TO A GREETING SAYING PATIENT S PHONES ARE SHUT OFF AND WILL TURN ON AT 8:00A.M. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT WILL DO IT AUTOMATICALLY WITH OUT OPERATOR INTERVENTION. THANKS TDOG

i've used a tod schedule on a mica card to schedule access to room phones, taking the console out of the loop.

If you have pkg 99 (Background Terminal) and pkg 81 (Controlled Class of Service) you could set up an automatic schedule. A bit complicated to set up if you haven't worked with background terminal before but it works.

johnpoole do you have more info on the mica card. we have an option 81c. any programming indo. thanks td

We put our phones in a Scheduled Access Restriction group. In LD 88, datablock SAR, the prompt is ICR = yes. Then, our patient phones are programmed with SGRP = 1 (which is the block built in LD 88). It redirects patient room calls to the attendant after hours. Here's a print of SAR and a Pt room phone... Hope this helps!

thanks one question, when the phones are turned off we want them to go to the recording like it does

The solution we're using doesn't allow it to go to a recording unfortunately. I'd be interested to see John's solution w/ MICA - we have one we're not using at the moment. Thanks! -Matt

if you set up the mica, you'll see the tod schedule, you can allow the dial thru between the hours of 9 to 5, after which time the same number goes to a recording.. very simple menu once you get in the gui interface

no way to route it to a ran for the message. thanks td

yes you can define a ran route as the after hours recording, you can also define a ran treatment as the path for dnd treatment

Where is the recording stored, on the MICA? or do we need an available RAN? (don't mean to jump on your thread TDOG257, if I'm going in a different direction then you just let me know...). Thanks, Matt

the ran is already there, so instead of going to the operator's it goes to the ran to let the caller know the hours the patient phone's are turned on and off. thanks

bit like time of day in meridian mail then?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

yes just with a gui interface, gives you day of week holiday sch, and time of day
