Well ya, u can display errors, but there are usually about a billion errors if u want to sort thru them instead of just a comparably few warnings. But if that is what u want and give stars out for.

I'm sure you figured it out but, to elaborate.
513 is the error code that will tell you that a phone is unplugged or disconnected. Taking the information that g3rguy provided, you will see on the first page that it provides a field for "Error Code" and you can place 513 in there and only see those codes.

2. Be nice. Try not to get impatient if someone doesn't give enough information for you to understand their question. This is a hard and fast rule. Bad tempered replies don't help anyone, and will just get deleted by site management anyway.

As someone who has had one week of formal training, like I'm sure many out there have....I appreciate this forum and the fact that I don't get a D for my spelling, language usage etc. but I get answers to everyday problems in the telecom world! It also is a great feeling to help someone else stars or no stars! Patience and manners are sorely lacking in todays world! Have another star just for the fun of it...

Orypecos it sounds to me like you need to spend more time clearing up the billions of errors in your switch and less time whining here on the board. In the Avaya world there is always more than one way to do most tasks. Yours are not more correct than anyone elses. Get used to it or complain to yourself. I for one do not need to hear it.
phonepd...look to your right, under MVP's...ya, next time try not to be so ignorant. We are all here to help one another. Orypecos is one of the best here. I am releaved whenever he helps me problem solve. His signature is there to help new people from asking the same questions over and over again. I think you owe Orypecos an apology. There are a lot of people who leech experience from people like David, Susan, Paul, Kevin...I can go on. Try to show a little respect.

Just because Orypecos is helpful doesn't give him a right to be disrespectful or rude. I would rather get my answers from someone who is considerate and understand that not all of us are on the same level when it comes to telcom issues. There are tactful ways to help people. No one person should think they are above another. Just when you think you know it all, there is someone behind you pointing out something you missed. The apology should be from Orypecos due to the rudeness.

I kind of agree with NX01. phonepd you are a little out of line here. Orypecos did get let's say a little testy on one of his replies, but he got a little spanking for perhaps being a little rude and that’s a done deal. He has posted useful information here and helped people fix about anything that has AT&T/Lucent/Avaya on it and a few others. So I guess in my opinion, he has a pretty good batting average. This is great resource to get help with our systems. I still have a hard time believing that in the times we live in, that so many people here that try to help each other. Their are no experts in every portion of our field, only people that are good at various parts of it. With this many people you can find a solution to just about any aspect of it. Thanks to everyone here that takes the time out of their busy schedules to try to help someone else.

Be careful when looking at analog stations with a 513 error. It does not necessarily indicate the station is not in use (since the switch can't tell if there is anything at the other end of an analog). I have had problems in the past where an administrator removed analog stations with a 513 error and shouldn't have.
Unless I really needed stations or ports, I always busied out analog stations I suspected were not in use for at least two weeks (I preferred a month). If no one complained, I would remove them.

NX01. Apologise for what? I do not read all of his posts and do not have any opinion about his knowledge. The point that I am making and you are missing is that his childish belittling of g3rguy's answer was out of line. Maybe the reason he is high on the MVP list is he is not afraid to whine for stars.
FYI - I did not even read his signature before. Thanks for pointing it out. It speaks volumes about him also.

For most cases, the error log or the display alarms will work for what you are after. The only problems that you may have would be on analog stations. When we install a new alalog line, we turn the test to "no" on the first page of the station form. This keeps them from coming into alarm and cuts down on pages and pages of alarms and errors in the switch.

I think we should all remember...
My response for the posted question, might possibly, reflect the bad day I had. Even in the best of situtations we can all become a little short at times. I would not take comments personally unless it is a direct attack on me. @#$! I spent 2.5 hours holding for support today only to be told "Call back during the day when there is someone here who can help." Wouldn't all of you crack after this and attempt? I almost began to pull all of the old 1A2 key equipment out of storage for old time sake
