Disabling an on Motherboard Sound Card

hello, <br><br>i am soon going to replace my current sound card, an on mother board Yamaha (i am not at home, so i don't have the exact specs, or the exact namr for that matter), all i am wondering is how to diable the on board card, do i do it just through the Hardware Profile thing (System---&gt;Device Manager----&gt;sound card), or do i have to change something on my motherboard???&nbsp;&nbsp;Any help would be appreciated.&nbsp;&nbsp;The card i am going to replace it with is a Sound Blaster Live! Platnum, also any comments about this particular card would be appreciated<br><br>Thanx

The device mangler stuff removes references from Windows.&nbsp;&nbsp;The physical hardware is still there waiting to be discovered on the next boot.&nbsp;&nbsp;You have to cripple it on the M/B to make sure you don't see it again.&nbsp;&nbsp;Now the question is , did the board manufacturer include everything required to cripple it in hardware. Settings should be in the BIOS. One word of caution, I have seen some onboard game ports still glom resources even though they were disabled through the bios.
