I just installed two new Digital Line cards. I bixed the riser to both but then when I tried to connect my stations to one of the boards, there was no power or light on the station. I double checked in the PBX and the board shows up under < list config all > as available. The other board is fine. What should I do now to find out if the board is toast or even the board is toast etc? I did receed the board but that did nothing.

These are brand new boards on a S8700 v12 on brand new 650 server.

Thanks

Sounds mostly like a wiring trouble.

Is it just one port on the card? Will other ports work?

Are you certain of the health of the wiring between the board and the cross connect point?

Perhaps you just have a badly wired jack?

Did you try another phone set on that jack? (Maybe it's just a bad phone?)

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

I have tried bixing all 24 prots on the wall aasociated to the Card in the PBX and nothing. Tried different phones and nothing.
I finally installed the card onto another prot and it works now, thanks anyway.

Their is a way to test your cabling to the port side of your distribution. I have done this several times in the past to pin point to either the carrier/pack/cables. I use a 25 pair amphinal cable and hook it directly to the backplane of the carrier. Then I fan out the pairs and use a butt set or a jack for a digital card and test dial tone. This may help narrow this trouble down for you.

Allways look for the obvious....I pushed the amphenol connector more on the PBX side and it works now. It was connected by the Vendor but was not pined all the way...DOH!
