I have a customer that has a number of tenants, each tenant is at the same location however running like individual companies. We have tenant to tenant restrictions in places and this works fine. The problem Im having is Dial by Name. When the customer selects this option today it goes to the corporate voicemail system (supports all companies/tenants). The customer is running cm5 with a MM4.0 exchange backend. Question 1. Is it possible to segregate the dail name lookup in MM/exchange. Question 2. If I setup dial by name vector in the PBX and assign the appropiate tn number to the vdn will the directory lookup only search the names associated with the TN or the whole PBX.

The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning, and does not stop until you get to the office.

We have the same battle... 5 different 'tenants' and we wanted to block them from being able to look up other names in other companies by either pressing the Directory button on the phone, or using the spell-by-name in voicemail. I know Avaya has offerings that pull directories together - but the question is how do you separate directories on (1) PBX...?

To date, we haven't come up with a solution.

Not sure how the DBN Vector/VDN would work as it uses 'Name1, Name2, Name3 - which isn't tenant specific. Plus IMO it's a clunky directory feature at best.

I have the same issue with dial by name and tenant partitioning. My alternative thought would be to try to use the MM to deal with the dial by name application and see if you can restrict the groups there.
I have the IA770 on a CM 5.1.2, but it too has issues with separating groups from the dial by name auto attendant feature.
I would be curious if you can do this DBN restriction succesfully in the MM, it might lean me toward going that direction for VM instead of the IA770.
