Sorry to ask a question that may seem silly to you guys.
We have always had a Nortel system. We recently acquired a Definity system. In the process of setting it up we lost our only tech with knowledge of the system. Everything seems to be working fine but when we tried to deploy the voicemail to users we discovered a problem.
1) When someone calls a users extension it goes to voicemail. It works fine.
2) But a user cannot access voicemail to check messages from their own extension.
3) we can check the voice mail from a nortel phone via the tie line between the 2 systems.
What have we done wrong?
In advance, thanks for helping a couple old Nortel guys get their new toy straight.
Thanks
Doug

Input their extension in the first 5 spaces in the station name field (Example: 2345 John Doe). Some systems require the extension before the name. Good Luck

OK. We tried but that did not fix the problem. Any other ideas?
Thanks so much.

What Actually happens. Do you get a blocked tone when dialling the Audix hunt group number, what digits do you press to get into it etc.
Check that the COR of the extns and the Audix extns can speak to each other. Normally page 2 on Change COR X.

We have it set up a bit diffrent.

In the name field we have...

Doe 23456,John

From what i was told, you have to keep the number within the first fifteen spaces, then the comma.

hope this helps.

lever.

Thanks for the help....it was the ext in the hunt-group. I tried to built it and use it like the Nortel voice mail system and that just doesn't work.
