I have a Definity G3I9 connected to a key voice voicemail. This uses mode code and it seems to work ok most of the time. It needs to work perfect all the time. The worst thing is that instead of a call going to a user's mailbox it will go to the main auto-attendant greeting.
Of course Comdial's tech support points their finger at the Definity. They say it is dropping digits. but when I use the trace feature on their voicemail it shows me correct digits are being recieved.
The vendor we bought this from has given up. Comdial's tech support is less than helpful.. They are more surly than not.
I have changed mode code settings in the pbx. Hunt group settings in the PBX. Station and hunt group member settings in the PBX. I have followed what little documentation has been sent to me that is specifically for the Definity - VIP integration. I can actually watch a call in the voicemail monitor and know 2 seconds after it comes in that it will fail.
Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Does Comdial offer digital set emulation integration?
I don't really ever expect anything to work 100% perfect all the time, especially the newer the system, the more the problems.
If the vendor can't get it to work, then find another system, and tell the vendor to come and get it and return your money.
I know with some of the Avaya mail systems there are timing parameters within the voicemail that can be changed to make things work better. Maybe the Comdial has similiar parameters?
When the call goes to the wrong box, is it only calls from the outside, or a particular trunk, or a cell phone?

P.S. For the best response to a question, read FAQ222-2244. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Please answer all questions so that I may have the info to assist you. Leaving a post on how you fixed the problem will also be appreciated.

Thanks for your quick response. This is a VIP system 11.1. The calls go to the main auto-attendant instead of the "dialed" mail box. This happens on DID calls, transfered calls, calls sent in from the console, etc. I have messed with the timing in both the PBX and the voicemail. It doesn't seem to change anything. I have requested new proposals for a different type of VM. I just thought I would use the forum as a last effort. I would really like this unit to work, but it just isn't happening.
Thanks again for your response.

U might try as they seem to have more people that work on comdial equipment.
Your comment "but when I use the trace feature on their voicemail it shows me correct digits are being recieved" , indicates to me that the voice mail is the problem.
Sometimes when using mode codes the PBX sends the trunk number to the voicemail, but this doesn't seem to be your case. When extending the call from the attdt or other points that aren't direct the pbx sometimes get confused about the destination of the call, but not in your case.
