Hi there, I have a customer who is wanting to implement daylight savings time across their entire Avaya network, so that it is 100% automated and no hands on changes are required.
If I set all servers, the core and then the remaining LSP's at 00:00 GMT and then use VDN offsets I believe that this will work, even if there is network fragmentation as the VDN offsets will then apply to the local gateway time which is going to be GMT to match the core server.
The phone time will come from the server, allowing for the correct time offset in the locations form.
Am I on the right track so far?
Now assuming this is all ok, and my way of thinking is correct, what happens to the adjuncts such as CMS, IVR and VM.
I know that CMS does not do multi-time zone well at all, not sure about IVR and the VM (not sure what they have right now) should be able to cope.
If anyone can advise, or preferably if anyone has done this or something similar already I would very much appreciate your thoughts on it all.
I am more than happy and in fact would be greatful to be able to call someone to have a chat personally in regards to the best way to go about this, if it is indeed possible to do so that it is fully automated.
Regards
Richard
