I've used Adobe Premiere at work for several years and recently installed 6.0 on my home computer. I've been editing lengthy projects from home for months and have been happy with the results.
I am currently able to edit existing projects containing several Gb of video so I know the program is working...
So here's my issue:
When I try to create a new project, importing four relatively short, 4 gig AVI files into a new timeline, Premiere locks up. Everthing about the source clips is the same. The files were taken from the same DV camera, captured in the same way and saved in the same HD. Ironically, the project that works, uses AVI files that are far bigger than the ones in the new project I'm trying to create.
I don't have any source files or Premiere preview files (from previous projects) saved in my computer and have all my new source files saved in my 120 Gb external HD as well. I have 65 Gb of space left on my external HD and over a 150 Gb on my internal one.
I know that without actually seeing what's on my computer, helping is difficult... it's just that nothing has really changed on my computer... no new programs, etc. to "mess with" Premiere. Do you know why the program being so particular with these clips?
