Does anyone know a definitive list of

Software Release
Packages
Patches

to make the Corporate Directory application work?

I have a RLS25.15 system with with corp dir package enabled that does not want to play ball. The csv file has been loaded successfully manually but it's not coming up on a 3904 with CRPA assigned. It's only a matter of time before a take a 12 gauge to it an blow a large hole it the front cover.

TIA

John

Never used feature, found in books to add these to cls
ADD

FLXA
CRPA

Press the Applications key on the 3904. Is anything being displayed?

Indeed I pressed the applications key and the phone says No Application Available so I'm obviously missing something here.

It should display "Application Corporate Directory" and you should see Select and Exit on 2 softkeys. Try to force download the phone. In ld 32 the command is FDLF tn then hit return. If you want to check the version of software currently loaded on the phone FWVU tn and IDU tn.

Tried the forced download to no avail phone version info is as below. I must be missing something obvious here.

I'll try to agree with myself. If you sysload or ini the system you get a message which says something about xx items found in corporate directory. If this is correct you have to ini the system befoure the .csv file can be read or the updates may be read. Can't imagine that all the phones access the .csv file. If 7000 phones connect to this file at the same time it could explode. If you can program crpa in cls it should be available in 25.25 but I'm not sure.

To use the Corporate Directory
utility, MAT 6.6 or later must be installed.

There is a way to do this without MAT or OTM, but you need access to PDT to get it done. I've done it several times befoure OTM 2.2 where I couldn't include external numbers, or befoure I new how to edit the file befoure it was sent to the system.

Thanks to all for all your contributions. For the record my test switch that I'm now trying this on is rel 25.40b and it has the packages 381 (Corporate Directory) and Enhanced 3904 installed. The CSV file is loaded (I'm using Phoneware's Phonemaster software, a Nortel approved OTM alternative) as I can see the CSV file with it's 40 entries is accessed when the switch is initialised. The FTP transfer is obviously working fine. I think the crux here is the corp directory application is not accessible on the M3904 even though the CLS CRPA is assigned. I would appreciate a copy of a known working 3904 config if anybody has one. The only mention of this application in the NTPs for administration and maintenence is LD 11 which is taken care of. I sense the solution to this is going to be one of those Doh! moments.

John

Top Man, thanks, I'll give this a go in the morning when I'm back at the bench (it's 7:30 PM here BTW) If anyone else has any other ideas as to why I'm not seeing the wood for the trees here I'd be very grateful.

Do you have MPLR16923 loaded? LD 22 ISSP

If not, load it.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed... Oh wait, he does...

Do you know what this patch address specifically?

John

You may need to check firmware of m3904, if your set is from earlier lot of m3904 then I doubt corp dir will work. In this case you may need new 3904 with latest firmware..... or try to upgrade the firmware.

I've managed to get this to work. Problems revolved around file location on the Opt 11 and the file format. key things I've found to remember are

CSV file should be uploaded to /u/db
format should be lastname, firstname,dn (nothing else)
execute command UPDATE_CORP_DIR in PDT

and assuming that CRPA is enable on the phone all should be fine and dandy.

Many thanks again for everyone's help

John
