ContactStore Tomcat error - HTTP Status 404 - /servlet/cscm 2

Good Day,

For some reason the other day after a power failure the server started up and customer could not access contact store.
This is the error:
HTTP Status 404 - /servlet/cscm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

type Status report

message /servlet/cscm

description The requested resource (/servlet/cscm) is not available.

I'm not familiar with tomcat but I reaqd the notes and tried to restart it by doing command :
$CATALINA_HOME\bin\startup.bat
doesnt work.
The CS and VMPRo are on the same server different partitions. Windows server 2008 R2 64bit

Any HElp will be appreciated. Theres no further documentation on this :-(
 
This is exactly what i faced before 3 weeks...

the only solution was ....
rename the witness folder to witness.backup...
uninstall the CS
re-install the CS....


before this try restarting the contact store and postgre services...

also i did one more the changed the logon of the services to the Admin account...
It was working for me..again i got the error.....again i re-installed it ...now working without issues for one week...

If you find any other solutions please update me !!

I faced this issue again ....
Also lots of issues with the Reporting Server, total number of calls and answered calls dont match....

Customer want to ditch everything and go for XIMA chronicall and DGVox :( :(
 
When you say reporting server you are referring to CCR I assume?
I'm trying to get Avaya to look at the contact store issue. I doubt they even have an answer :-(
I had the same issue with CCR reports not being accurate.

What a bad day i had....lots of complaints about the system...
They are asking for the root cause for the Contact Store issue, it all started after the power failure...


I migrated everything to the virtual machine...did a fresh installation of Contact Store
waiting for the error to re appear.
tons of minor alarms failed to compress xxxxxx.wav .
any one knows whats the reason for this.
the VRL directory of Voicemail pro has around 2000 audio files ....

CCR are reports are wrong.
is it possible to do something here .
i had configured it perfectly.
facing issues in some sites only rest are a kinda ok....
IS XIMA chronical better than CCR??

Check is you have set the auto record type to VRL Authenticated. I set this on ours and CS didn't like it one bit. Got to admit I didn't research this. Just changed it to normal and moved right along. It was only a lab setup!!!

I have had a couple of sites with CCR that we have had to bite the bullet and bin the DB and reinstall CCR with a blank DB and lose the old data (They could put it on another SQL and report from there I suppose). It tends to be the sites where lots change to start with or people have tried to move CCR and SQL to a new server or the like. Last one I did was an R7 and not been back for CCR issues for 18 months after reinstall.

I agree when I changed the settings to VRL Authenticated the issue arose....
CCR is troublesome but I was told that they way we interpreted the reports were incorrect. The stats are right but the way it displays them based on the parameters it seems that its wrong. For example running a CDR as apposed to Summary will show different number of outgoing calls per report, however if you read the manual it states why it calculated these... if this makes sense....
I haven't tried Xima Chronicor but I know someone who has and says its way better and accurate. They are loving it.
 
I did test it and liked some of it but not others so we decided not to take it on.

Not seen it in true production action to say if it better or worse than CCR, but plenty on here race about it.

We don't have too many issues with CCR anymore.

Investigate on Friday, no idea what is wrong

Java 7 update 21 breaks One-X Portal so perhaps it breaks Contactstore too?
Would be easy to uninstall it and install an older version.

This server has no autoupdates enabled as it has no internet access and it used to work, maybe "Avaya" is a synonym to "it used to work"
I always get a humor on those things, appearently there can be no reason to break and still it does. A remark of a bad product.
I always have been a fan of the "set and forget" stuff like VM Pro and Xima.

Me too but recently both let me done.
VMPro suddenly corrupted when i accessed it with Teamviewer.
Xima stopped loggin except for VRL (fixed after a reboot)

So even the always working stuff let me down :)
I really need a long holiday :)

Go on a cruise around the world in a rowing boat ( take your cats with you but leave the wife at home ) maybe Avaya will sponsor you but I would pass that as the boat may no work after while

when the webpage is not opening that means that the alarms table has got filled up and the java has run out of memory. This can be verified from the file “wrapper.log” from the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Witness\tomcat5525\logs\. It should contain an Error message OutOfMemory error. If the error message is there in wrapper log, to clean this up, you would need to login to postgresql database.
 
Can you explain how to login the database and clean it up? Might be interesting for me to do next friday.
If it helps I can write a faq on it.

@VikeshR : never mind, I have sorted it out. Hardest part was to find the password. Now see if it helps tommorrow...
