I have the crossover cable connected on a new CP150, I changed my IP to match on my laptop, but I can't get the CP to talk to me. I can ping the IP 192.168.110.10from my laptop, so I know my lap is good and the cable is good, but I can't get to the CP screen, any ideas? Both Lap and CP have been rebooted.

Although I have not experienced it, sometimes that just happens to people.
Similar posts have had success by forgoing the x-over cable, and using a switch and normal cables instead.

Are the laptops and CP in the same subnet as well?
Is the CP functional?

cp will not respond until the "in operation" light comes on. the one just below 10/100 light. if this is a 3.0 it can take up to 30 minutes to finish loading and light to come on.

I picked up a small 4 port hub and just use regular cables to both. (more dependable than locally manufactured xover cable)

also like nortelnorstar said you have to wait for the sys to do the basic bootup. you need to have at least the first DN Port connected to an ICS or the bootup will halt just a few seconds into the boot routine. and like senkls said make sure that the address of your laptop will let you talk to 198.162.110.10 via the subnet mask

Is it possible the ip of the callpilot has already been changed to match the local network ? Is this a new install ? you can learn alot about how the system boot-up is going and how it's configured by watching it boot up by connecting a pc with a serial cable to it.

Go to networks and open it go to tcp/ip and set network
pro to 192,168.110.50,subnet,255.255.255.0,gateway ip,is
call pilot 192.168.110.10.This shold work.. Close and open browser and this should go..

Sounds like the CallPilot is responding to your pings.
The CallPilot must be connected to a KSU to boot correctly.
Also I would suggest you upgrade this CallPilot using bootloader to latest version. Your software may be corrupt and this may repair your corruption. If you have another software card try another in its place.
Also does the CallPilot boot?
Are you able to perform programming using Feature 983?
Have you tried booting the CallPilot with a serial cable attached to your CallPilot and your laptop? You can confirm the IP address of the CallPilot via serial cable and you can ensure that the boot setting are correct.
