We have a 3GsiV11 with call center release 9.1 and are looing to replace BCMSVu with CMS. We have gotten two different cost proposal from vendors. One resellers price is around 30,000 for CMS R13, the other vendor says we need to migrate to S8500, around 82,000 to get the full funtionality of CMS, says that out switch verison and CMS need to match, if not we be basically getting the same data as we currently get from BCMSVu, with a few more report capacabilities. Is this correct???
We have been searching for something that will provide better reporting and historical data that BCMSvu.

You don't need to upgrade the switch. There are some new features in Call Center 3.0 that are pretty neat but the switch upgrade, call center upgrade, and CMS costs probably outweigh the benefits. Just add the CMS (and a C-LAN board).

That BP is trying to make another sale by selling you a switch upgrade as well. The versions do not need to match. I have a G3 with CM2.2 and a R9 CMS. I also have another sight with a CM2.0 and a R12 CMS, I am going to an S8XX0 processor next year and there is no way that I am going to uprade the CMS as well.

you may want to check again with your BP about doing independant upgrades.

we just went through this (r3v9 CMS, r10 g3si switch) and were informed that Avaya would not allow us to upgrade our CMS without upgrading the switch as well. i'd be thrilled to find out that this was bogus, but the way avaya has been streamlining their pricing model lately, i fear the worst.

I think to manage all 60 skills in CM 2.2 - CM 3.0 + from Centre Vu you need at least CMS 12.0. I could be wrong though... Phoneguy55 with his G3 CM2.2 and R9 would prove it otherwise...

Rant:
I wish they would have increased the number of vector steps... 32 is weak for a menu option/announcment happy customer. Who wants to jump vectors just for a few more steps... I should be able to set it... just like abb lists.

Thanks,

Wildcard
