I know how to see how many CVSUPS a CMS is licensed for. Is there any way to tell how many you are using??? i.e - How to judge when it's time to buy more licenses BEFORE people are denied access? -CL

How many you are using? hmm, not really I think. you could log in as root on the cms box and type 'who', this would show you who is currently logged in. Perhaps if you do it in the busy hour...
someone else might have a simpler solution...

The simpliest way is going into Centre Vu supervisor select tab tools, select user permission, select normal user in the field prompted and then press list all.
This will show you all the user that are supervisors.
Then do the same thing flagging the administrator field and press list all.
Remember to leave all the other fields blank

Hope this helps

The only way I have found to see how many people are using Supervisor or Terminal Emulator is to go to the Unix prompt and do the "w" command (you may need to do a "w |page" if you have a lot of users). That will show you, among other things, the users logged in, and what program they are using. chip is Supervisor, crt_io_main is Terminal Emulator. Do that a few times during the day and you should get a good idea of what's going on. It's a little cumbersome but it is useful.

For what it's worth, I try to encourage my users, especially for the smaller skills, to use Terminal Emulator for real-time monitoring, and Supervisor only if they are going to print a report. Seems to work pretty well.

Hope that helps.
