I'm starting to think the CICS only connects at 2600 and need to change the CICS modem to SLOW almost every install now.
Question is do others find the same or do you always seem to connect at Default 19000 and Internal Modem=Fast???

Also when connecting to a RAD I wait about 6 beeps before hitting connect because any sooner I cant connect yet on the CICS I find almost right away I have to click connect or it wont connect.....any suggestions as to how others connect would be great to get an average.

Cheers
CC

This has not been a problem for me at all, the connect is normally at 19200.

I would suggest a couple of tests for you:
try another telephone line to your modem
try a different modem
verify and test your modem settings specifically the highest connect speed default

as you can tell I am looking at your equipment rather than the IRAD since you are seeing the problem on multiple locations. You probably checked most of these but they come to mind

Well I did not suspect my equipment because RAD's are ok but wth, I will look into my setup here...thanks Jerry!

you might even take a laptop right on site and try a modem connection from there

curlycord,

I've experienced the same problems with the CICS IRAD, almost since they first came out. I've been completely un-impressed with the quality/reliability of the internal modems. Some work fine at regular speeds while others have to be notched down to the slower speed to reliably answer, or just don't answer at all, especially during a manual transfer. It seems like about half of them work well and the other half don't. I don't think that the problems can be attributed to line quality in most cases since I've changed lines for test purposes. I've been experimenting with slower modem speeds with some success...

Sure pull me out of forum retirment why dont you?
lol : )

I am having not too many problems now, I use 19,200 for most sites and if not 4800.
RAD's I click OK right on the 6th beep and Irads on the 2nd beep.
Irad's Internal Modem= Fast unless using 4800
This is based on using an external Robotics 33,000 modem.

Hey C.C., good to see you are still clickin'. Drop in more often.
