Trying to connect to a CICS 4x16 4.1 w/IRAD.

Situation is as follows:
Setup the pbx as instructed (remote package, passwords, etc)
Using Norstar ICS Remote Tools 10
Set IRAD Answer Line 3 after 2 rings
The pbx pickups the call and syncs with the modem (tested at various speeds)
Remote software displays Connected
After about 30 seconds, displays "IRAD NOT RESPONDING"
Everything hangsup

Questions are:
Does anyone have a better connection string? I am using the default Norstar Remote Software string.
When it shows Connected, does that rule out modem problems?
Does anyone have a link to the Log codes descriptions? The codes I am getting are not listed in the documentation I have.

Again thank you very much, this forum rocks!!

What are you using for your modem? That makes a big difference on the init. string.
I like to use an external modem so that I can watch the lights for clues. The tramsmit and RD lights should continually be flashing at a rapid rate with a good connection. You might try a different line. Some lines just don't like to pass data.

I have tried a couple of different modems; Most of them being rockwell/conex varients internal modems, and an older laptop modem that claimed to be an Intel chipset (not confident that it was).

Most of them showed "Connected" when using the Nortel Remote Software, but shortly after the "Connected" text was displayed, "RAD not responding" replaced it and connection would drop.

I have tried three seperate phone lines, a SBC POTS line reliably connected, a Vonage VOIP connection only connected at low speed, and a rigged up Cisco ATA phone adapter to simulate a pots phone system (mixed results).

I am thinking that there is a handshake issue with either the modem hardware or the Nortel Remote Software.

Does any of this ring any bells (pun intended)?
Does anyone have a list of modem strings that have worked with modern modems? (boy is that an oximoron)
Thanks
