Basically, I have a directory path being input at the command line by the end user and the path being insert is "c:\iislog\". My script then creates files in this directory. I have found that when creating some files, perl somehow changes this variable to "c:\\iislog\" which is causing an error in WinNT not allowing these files to be created. I have checked and I NEVER edit this variable after I grab it from the command line. If anyone can help, I would be VERY appreciative. Thanks. [sig][/sig]

As your user enters the path change the \ characters to / [sig]<p>Mike<br><a href=mailto:michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com>michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com</a><br><a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site</a><br>Making mistakes, so you don't have to. &lt;grin&gt;[/sig]

I should replace the \ with a / even if I am working in a Windows NT environment? Thank you for the advice. [sig][/sig]
