Users come and go...need to be able to remove or re-record users name in voicemail.

which vm mode

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Intuity Mailbox Mode
By default when the user first enters their mailbox, they will be asked to set their voicemail code password and then to record their name.

IP Office Mailbox Mode
In this mode you need to setup a call flow that allows users to record their name. In this document we have included an example module that can be used for that purpose. The same module can also be used by Intuity mode mailbox systems to let users re-record their names. See Adding a Record Name Module.

Adding a Record Name Module
This module allows users to record/re-record their mailbox name. This, or a similar module, is necessary if the Voicemail Pro is using IP Office mailbox mode. However it is still useful if the Voicemail Pro is using Intuity mailbox mode as it gives users quick access to re-record their name.

In Voicemail Pro, we added a new module and called it Record Name.

We added a Record Name action.

In the General tab of the Record Name action's properties we set the Pin as $. The $ means that caller's must enter their Voicemail Code in order to use the action.

We left the Specific tab set to Caller's Mailbox.

We then used Save and Make Live.

Adding a Shortcode:

In Manager, we added a new system short code. For this example we chose *74 and then entered the details as shown below.

After merging this back into the IP Office, users can dial *74 at their extension in order to record their mailbox name.

from the help files above

Rename the user in Manager.

VmPro creates a new mailbox and if its Intuity mode prompts for a name recording.

olson5000,
glad to help, renaming the user will also do it, but this is another way which can make things easier if you find the other way more dificult.

i also put in a recordings module in vmpro that has a sc that leads to it for re-recording greetings other than user mailboxes. group boxes, queue prompts, aa's, personal aa's, etc., etc.

just makes life easier for the users, and less calls from the company for me to deal with for help. some customers do not use a dial by name directory, so the user names have little importance in that regard. i can change them next time out in that case, or if they are not in a hurry to get the directory up to date. either way it is quickly changed for the confidence challenged administrator.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

After you login the mailbox then goto 5 Personal.

options personal

4 = Password
5 = Record Name
