This seems like a really simple thing to do, so maybe that's why searching here didn't find any help for this. But here's my situation.

We have a user who recently changed her marital status and wants to go back to using her maiden name for everything. Normally I would just go in and make the changes under the Users tab, but she has a ton of saved voicemail messages that I don't want to lose. I also don't want to have to reset her password. If I just rename her, it will create a new empty folder with the new name in the Accounts folder, and all of her messages will be inaccessible.

Can I simply rename her existing folder in Accounts with her new user name, and then change the User settings in IP Office to match? Or should I let IP Office go ahead and create the new folder, then copy all of the WAV files (saved VM messages) into the new folder? What would be the best way to do this without screwing anything up?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just copy all the voicemail messagesw out of the accounts folder plus her greeting.

The change the name on the ipo and let it resync.
Once done throw the accounts back into her new accounts folder and then record a new greeting then copy the old one into the greetings and rename it to match the new greeting it will then overwrite the newly recorded message and the old message will play.

thank you

The VM box uses the Username so If you just need to change the Fullname you don't have to do anything with VM.

Thanks for the advice. I need to change both the full name and the username to be consistent, so I'll take your advice about copying everything over. Today is a good day to do it since she's out of the office anyway.
