For what it's worth, we haven't had a whole lot of trouble with MX 6.1. It's been quite stable, and solved a lot of problems that we were actually having with 5.0... plus it runs on our Weblogic app server, rather than running as it's own or on JRun. For some reason, mention "J2EE" and "standard" and it tends to make I/T professionals happy. Go figure.
That being said, we do run both ColdFusion and ASP in an integrated environment on several of our NT platforms (we chiefly run on Solaris... but...) ... freely mixing the two "languages"... and everything runs just fine.
But, yeah, I'm with you... throwing everyone into a new language without training is pretty much suicide for any projects that you want to get done for at least the first year.
