Situation: Remote Site A (option 61C with Suc 3 software)is connected via T1 with D channel to Main site B (option 81 w/ suc 3)using coordinated dialing. Remote site C (Norstar Rls 1.5) was recently added via a T1 circuit to Site B. From site C, you can extensions that are on Sites A and B. From Site B, you reach C by dialing the route access code + the extension. From site A, I have to dial the access code, 16(route betwen A and B), then access code (14) plus the extension to reach site C.

Questions:
1. Since since A and B are CDP'd, how do I program Site A/B so that I do not have to use 2 access codes to reach Site C.
2. When I make an outbound call from A or B , I could not transfer the call to Site C and vice versa. What are options that I have to select to allow transfer of trunk calls between sites ? Please note that there is no problem when transferring an inbound call between site.

Thank you in advance for your response.

if your trunks are rcls internal then you almost there.. make the dn's in the norstar unique and the same length as your other dn's.. then build them in both switches as dsc's. lets look at a call from the 81 to the 61 and then to the norstar..

3333 if vacant in both switches so put that as a dn in the norstar.. in the 81 build it as a dsc and send it to the 61, in the 61 build it as a dsc and send it to the norstar.. if your using rlb's to put the call on the right route you will not need to acod's..

the main thing is to find common numbers in the 81/61 ludn tables and use those as dn's in the norstar..

The DNs (5xxx's) that I was given by the Norstar tech already exist on my 81 and the tech told me that these are the DNs that are only available in his switch. Also, on my switch I have very limited DNs that I could use. So, from my 81 I would like to retain the ACOD (14) + extension when dialing the Norstar but I do I program the 61 so that I don't have to dial another ACOD (16), then ACOD (14) when dialing from the 61C to the Norstar. Thanks for your reply.

then in your 61 use a dgt to insert the 14 when the 16 is dialed..

in the 61, when you dial the 16.. change that to a dsc.. make the acod a 7 digit vacant dn, then build 16 as a dsc, send that to the tie route using a dgt to insert the 14..

you don't have a lot of options when you dial the acod, by makeing at least the 61 a dsc you can insert and/or delete digits.. i never force users to know where a phone is before that call it.. i've networked 20K stations and any station could move between switches.. sound like your close to going to all 5 digit dn's.. someting i'll be doing here this year.. we have around 8000 total numbers.. you have vacant some vacant numbers, your using all the 1600 group in one switch and all the 1800 group for a norstar.. i never use acod's shorter the 7 digits except for page.. (4 digit) and use 7 digit for hot d's acods, any number that users don't need to know.. all the 4 digit numbers in my 81 are did's which puts another twist on the number plan.. most of us are working on switches we didn't install are plan.. a lot of them (mine) was never planned, it just grew so now i spend hours cleaning up trash database..
