I am having a problem installing CCR on a 64-bit 2008 server.

I get an error Visual J# 2 does not exist.

Can somebody advise what I need to install, as the vjredist.exe from the old Pre-requisites will not install on a 64-bit machine.

Help Please.

Thanks

I have had that too.
Use google and search for the 64 bit one.

Thanks Guys,

Got it in the end, main problem was 1st ccr install on 2008 server and it just happened to be 64-bit so I got a bit confused.
The ccr installation manual is all geared up for 2003 server and not for 2008, and not having done much on 2008 in the past left me with some head scratching.
Maybe someone could put together a FAQ on installing ccr pre-requisites on 2008 server, and include links to downloads for 32-bit & 64-bit installations.

sounds like an excellent idea and seeing that you are so fresh on it you might want to do that :)
I have done only one on 2008 and that was 32 bit and went by the manual without any hick ups

Peter,

you might want to update the SQL links to 2008 R2 With Management Tools.

2008 R2 is now the prefered and generally shipped OS with Dell / HP etc.

I dont think std 2008 SQL runs on Win 2K8 R2 either.

the last few of my installs have been all 64bit R2

I have done an install on server 2008R2 and i have used SQL Express 2008 on it.
But i will add it.
