I have run into a bit of a Catch 22, perhaps someone will have a suggestion as to how I can remedy the situation.
I installed some software that appears to be keeping my system from booting properly. Whenever the computer is started it hangs up at the Startup window (animated, color screen). I CAN, however, boot into Safe Mode (thanks god for small miracles). I have tried to Remove the program via Add/Remove but this program was installed with the Windows Installer Service and so wants to be UN-installed via the windows Installer Service which, apparently, is not available in Safe Mode! Doh!
So my question is: How do I manually uninstall something that was installed by the Windows Installer (MSI)?
OR
How can I determine which program (presumably a driver) is causing the problem and eliminate it from the boot sequence?
Notes: The software in question is for my DVD burner. About the same time my M$ Office 2003 Beta expired. The last entry in the Ntbtlog.txt file is cdfs.sys. I tried setting the system clock back just in case it was a problem with the O2k3 Beta that was causing the problem. I also tried running the Windows Repair off the install CD...
ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated (except those that suggest wiping the HD and reinstalling the OS)!
Thanks In Advance,
