Can't remove Old DHCP Server

When I go into the MMC snapin, and on the DHCP root, select "manage authorized servers", I get a list of the "authorized" servers on my network. The problem is that there is 1 server in there that is an old server. This old server shares the same IP address as a new server. Long story short, I can't remove the old server from this list either using the MMC or the netsh dhcp delete command. Also, when I go to the New server, it shows up as being authorized even though it does not show up on the "authorized" servers list. When I try to unauthorize it, in hope of being able to authorize it and have it display correctly on the list, I get a "The parameter is incorrect" error. I've tried rebuilding the DHCP database but I've not been able too. Any suggestions on getting rid of the old entry (which by the way does not appear anywhere in AD anymore) and get the new server added?
Thanks in advance

What happened to the old server? Did you dcpromo it, or did it just die on you?

It was removed as "cleanly" as can be. I dcpromo'ed it to remove it as a DC. I removed DHCP from it. Removed it from the domain.

Do you have access to the mac address of the old server? You might be able to search ad for that, since you've got the same ip on the new server. A search for the ip address would do no good.

I'm sure I do. The old server is sitting about 10 inches to my left. Where would I do a search for the Mac? ADUC?

ipconfig /all from a dos box will give you the results, including one line you need.
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-30-BD-66-CB-7D
That will be your mac address.

Either I didn't state my question well or you misunderstood it. I know where and how to find the MAC address. Where in AD am I supposed to be looking for it? Also, should I just search AD through ADUC or should I use some other command? BTW - Thanks for the help so far :D

I'd just search ad. You'de be surprised what you can find buried there. Good luck.

I searched and didn't find any MAC address. Then again, I searched on a MAC address that should exist and didn't find anything with that one either.
