We have an issue with or Option 81c where we are unable to call any cell phones in Dubai or Peru they have 16 digits.

we can call land lines in those two places but if we need to call a cell phone we have to use a POTS line or a cell phone.

Any advice? My vendor is suggesting we build a route which points to a POTS line to prove that it isnt the PBX but rather the CO.

thoughts?

You don't need to make a RDB and any trunks or crossconnects.

Do you have a copper trunk in the system Now? if yes just make the RLI NOT RLB as I posted above.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Sorry. Yes we have POTS line or copper trunk we can do this with but no they are not currently part of the PBX so that is why have to cross connect and all that.

OK now I understand. Do you have a BUTTSET, if connect it to one on the copper trunks and see if you can make the call. I fyou can the setup the RDB, Trunk, RLI and CHG the SPN. when you have time.

Ok but you DO understand that we have no copper trunks coming into the PBX whatsoever. We have POTS lines coming in but they dont touch the PBX and as per the title of this thread we already use those to call Dubai and Peru since they do work. Or am I totally confused?

OK I'm confused, if you already have copper trunks and that is what your using, then we can't do anything else as this is a Vendor Problem on your PRI's and there is nothing we can do.

So I guess this is the END OF THIS THREAD.

On your DCH monitor if you are seeing a proper outgoing message and no response from the CO The problem is theirs. I am also under the assumption that if you dial other numbers on this loop they work properly and you see all of the out going and incoming messages. If this is the case It is the Telco's problem.. Andreasolo mentioned Prim am I to to assume that your local telco is Embarq? If so just keep screaming at them too and they will get tired of it and hollar at AT&T also.

I would like to know how if the Copper trunks are not connected to the PBX how do you use them?

We use the copper trunks independently of our PBX mostly for disaster recovery if needed.

they are straight from the CO to our prim and we specifically wanted/needed them to be stand alone in case of emerg and PBX went down.

FINALLY!
Today we found that if we point the 9-011 to go out our local trunk the call goes through. OR if I dial the Local route access code it goes out.

Once I put that back over to the LD trunk it fails.

We currently have it re-routed to go out our Local Trunk but we can not leave it that way since the cost is not the same as our LD trunk and would cause billing issue.

We have proven though, that the LD trunk is not passing the digits correctly or not completing the call.

International calls are not LD calls, they should be going out the local CO trunks.

WHAT! We have a SPN for 011 set up to go out RLI 4 which points to LD route and always have and always has worked until we had the unfortunate luck of finding out that Peru cell phones and Dubai cell phones have extra digit that their land lines dont have.....hmmmm well I sure didnt know that the Int'l calls were supposed to go out Local trunk. And AT&T thinks too that they need to correct the issue.

ugh.....well at least for the moment it's working but we cant pay the tolls on our Local trunk that would rack up since not same rate as LD trunk.

International Toll charges should be the same unless you have a special agreement with your provider to send them out on the LD route which may or may not be ATT.

Well yes it is AT&T and yes we must have special agreement.

I had Qwest for LD and was charged 1.5 cents per min, but for International calls it went out local and paid different rate.
