I have a Definity Switch. After I make a local call the person answers and says Hello,
The called person can't hear me for 2 seconds, then the call is normal. ANY HELP?

What type of phone (analog, digital, IP) and style are you using?
Are you using a headset?
Does this problem happen only with local calls? Does it happen with every local calls, or only sometimes?
What about long distance calls or in-house calls?
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

We have had this problem several times with agents using headsets. Replacing the batteries has fixed the problems each time.

If no headset - we should wait for other suggestions.

Susan:

Some answers:

We use Digital 8410Bs for the most part.

We have some analog phones, but seldom used, no reports yet.
Only on some local calls, but many extentions.

Long distance we must use a access code, it takes about 2 seconds for the first digit to be recognized. So we can't tell if its happening.

It doesn't happen in house.

Thanks for your reply!

Perhaps a trunk or trunk member issue? Try to identify the trunk(s) involved and see if there is a pattern.

Thanks Susan, we are attempting to do that, but the problem is only at-times. My other problem with long distance may be related.

Thanks Again!

We have an issue like this where the extensions are on our switch but are offsite, and are VoIP extensions... the calls had to be recorded (using a trunk side voice logger) but this was preventing CLI information hitting the agents desktop.

Our telephony guys are using external software that automatically conferences the call to the voice logger as it hits the agents desktop - resulting in a 2/3 second delay in the agent being able to hear the caller.

Not really a solution, but maybe an explanation ?
