Hello, I'm new to this forum.

I'm part of a team managing several dozen ICPs. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on a mitel doc/release note that 1GB memory will be needed for a future Mivoice Business release (MCD 8 ?), but I'm not finding that information at the moment.

I have an ICP that has an alarm caused by the memory being used at 91% of the 512MB installed, so I'm wondering if an 1GB module is available to solve this problem.

Thanks

We have a mix of CX, MXe Servers, MXe, MXe III, I think the CX will not support more than 512MB. The one I'm having the alarm on is an MXe.

Software release?
There have been issues with memory leaks in past.
A scheduled program reboot should correct.
The other factor could be exceeding resources such as more sets programmed on system than recommended for configuration in engineering guidelines.

We're in 6.0 SP3

About 900 phones, the system has an E2T.

There is a monthly scheduled reboot, uptime is 26 days at the moment.

I opened a ticket with Mitel and their answer was to reboot and that there is no way to increase memory.

Thanks for your answer.

From the Release Note for 7.0 SP1:

MiVoice Business Release 7.0 SP1
New Hardware
MiVoice Business Release 7.0 SP1 introduces 1 GB RAM Module Upgrade (50006727) for the MXe III Controller.

No further information on this upgrade has been released.

Good find thanks, I knew I had read it somewhere.

Mitel also gave me that information after some time, now the question would be if it is compatible with older MXe, and convincing our client to go for the 7.0 version, not easy.

The other option would be a vMCD.

If you do not have an MXe-III then don't bother asking, the MXe-III is very different hardware wise from any other system.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Who says 1024MB (1GB) is not supported in a CX/i controller? It will actually be required shortly (1GB, not 512MB). This is documented in the Help File on the current MiVoice Business build.

Is not the rAM on a CX/CXi soldered to the Mb? I thought it was and there is no slot for expansion? Its been a while since I needed to get inside one....

kwbMitel : that's a concern since we have many older MXe and CX in the field.

TheMitelGuy : Do you know when 1GB will be required, a timeframe or version number ?
