After the weekend I arrived at the office to find the phone system dead. Opened up the Definity cabinet (upgraded from a System 75) - no lights on the "A" shelf, & the rocker switch on the 631AR was off. Switched it on & everything came back.
Called Avaya who said the supply cannot switch itself off. However, it's VERY unlikely someone would/could do this.
Is there another explanation? Thanks,
Jim

I suspect a power bump activated the circuit breaker. Do U have a battery backup/power conditioner that the pbx is plugged into? The other thing could be the circuit breaker is going bad.

P.S. For the best response to a question, read FAQ222-2244. Also give the type & version of your voice mail & pbx & preview your post to make sure it is complete & understandable. Please answer all questions so that I may have the info to assist you. Leaving a post on how you fixed the problem will also be appreciated.

The PBX is not connected to a power conditioner or UPS, however a UPS used for other equipment does log all notable power fluctuations -- none were recorded for the past week.
If the OFF/ON rocker switch is also a circuit breaker, that is explanation enough. Avaya gave me the impression that it is simply a switch. Thanks!
