I have a customer who wants to shut off the automated attendant and just use the voicemail. The attendant (21) will not have voicemail and will just ring until the phone is answered. I removed her mailbox but now after the 5th ring I get a "Sorry that wasn't a valid phone number or group list number" message no matter what line I dial in on. I set up 21 to forward to 22 after 3 rings as a test and it did forward but after a total of 5 rings I got the same Sorry message. Only station 21 rings (I cleared ringing on 22-37) Any ideas?

Go to F 982, operator, and turn answer lines off, then let the phone system route the call on the no answer basis from a ringing phone. Either have one phone call forwarded or change the number of rings on that phone to be the lowest count.

Also make sure that her phone is not set to forward to voice mail after 5 rings & check what the Prime Set is for the lines. It could be the CP DN.

Looks like Curley Cord was the winner in his assessment. I disconnected a line from the CICS and then called the number. After 5 rings I got the "Sorry..." phone company message. Supposidly it will be removed in 24 hours. Sure sounds like an easy problem to troubleshoot now (once you know the solution).
