Hi there,

we have CP 4.0 and are unable to send any faxes at all, not even interoffice.

I am not sure how to do CallPilot trace but will as soon as find out.

Andrea

Tried to LD 80 trac 160 1 0 11 and get DCFW ACTIVATED PHANTOM and that is all.

Are we sure 8402 is a multimedia SDN with type fax and permission to get off the switch etc...

trvler - do you know if the cls CTD and XFD affect this? Mine is UNR and XFA...

Just double checked and 8402 is a SDN with FAX as media type.
I will change the cls to UNR and XFA,...ok did that still nothing...i just have been informed that the 73 forward a message feature is also going nowhere!
I have rebooted the machine last weekend and nothing changed.
I was able to just now leave an express message and hit 79 and sent to a phone and it went....

If you are not seeing the Phantom go busy when trying to fax, it appears that it is not getting out of the CP, I assume you checked all possible outgoing paths when doing this? Have you checked all your permissions and restrictions to make sure these calls can go out? Can you make calls out of the system by transferring from a regular mailbox? I have never worked with the fax side of CP so I cannot help you there, but I would think if you can get a call out of the system, you should be able to get a fax out of it. Worth a shot ....

LeeMcCauslin: CTD/UNR is dependent on how your PBX is set up for restrictions, but definitely worth a shot.
andreasolo: I see your phantom is programmed with FTR DCFW 4 8402, you say this is an SDN to get out of the PBX?? Can you change this to a 4 digit internal fax ext and see if it works?

Ok did that and changed the dcfw to a 4 digit internal fax with zero change. I also changed CLS to unr/xfa and here is the cp trace:

So now the phantom is programmed FTR DCFW 4 8888, (this being the ext of the internal fax machine on your PBX). you sent the fax to 8888 and still got the negative result. Is this the only outbound trunk or do you have more?

Yes got same exact result. We have more than one outbound trunk.
Sorry to be such a hard case to crack but seems that is the way things go for me...I get the unusual hard to pin point problems. :)

It is likely something really simple .... sounding like it is more withing the CP server though, and there I cannot help you much on the fax side, anyone else got any ideas???

I put the dcfw back to the SDN. I go straight to the nortel fax and see there is never anything pending or even populating that "printer" queue. I will start focusing on the Server now and see if can figure out anything at all.
Of course the network guys dont want to even discuss it since it cant be a network issue to them....

andreasolo....go to the callpilot forum and look at the
post for callpilot sending fax problem you will find
your fix in think there.

I would also make sure on the actual callpilot box that the right DNS entries are listed on the properties for the NIC - although when I had mine set wrong, it showed up on the trace as not being able to get out off... still, it needs to be right regardless...

check to see if you have Delivery to Telephone or Fax check, default is uncheck and faxes goes nowhere.

Messaging -> Message Delivery Config -> Unauthenticated Access Rest -> Delivery to Phone or Fax

Delivery to Phone or Fax has been checked the whole time. I will check DNS info on NIC card or see if network guy can assist me with that.

CLAN has right DNS entry and ELAN has no entry. should it the ELAN have the same?

My elan has nothing so I wouldn't think you need anything there. This just keeps getting weirder!

I'm sure it probably is but I gotta check - your mailbox class does have the keycoded features for fax and desktop messaging checked and the RPL is one that can go out...

Ok now I do see that when go into classes of mailbox and go down to RPLs for FAX or Desktop Messaging the Delivery to Telephone and Fax: is set to LOCAL then the properties for LOCAL have the numbers needed in permissions though.

andreasolo...again take a look at the callpilot forum.....
look at the POST jlk53...sending fax problem....you will
find what you are looking for.....

andreasolo...did you give them permission or did someone
else because callpilot comes locked down from the factory
make sure you are reading it the right way you have to give the numbers you want to be dial permission.
