CallPilot 4.0 wont send fax at all but receive ok.

Hi there,

we have CP 4.0 and are unable to send any faxes at all, not even interoffice.

I am not sure how to do CallPilot trace but will as soon as find out.

(I posted this in the other thread but I should have done it here first so poor Finn doesn't keep getting notifications on his thread that don't have to do with his question)

You should have a Nortel program folder on the machine that has the nortel fax installed - CPTrace is one of the apps - just open it and then start a fax - the CPTrace window will fill up with all kinds of helpful info you can paste into a post here.

It is everything I went through when setting mine up and got some good help there for my problem - the network information (DNS server info especially) helped me get it going.

Hmmmm, that last one looks like a completed fax - do you know what they get on the other end? Does it ring? do they hear fax negotiation? (Is it going to a real fax machine or another computer?)
Are you using vpim?

Check you TGAR and NCOS against a working phone and see if that works.

andreasolo..i think trvlr1 is on the right track make
your extension on your deskphone the same tgar and ncos
as your phantom extension and see if it works before
you do this print out your tgar and ncos first for your
extension or just make the phantom the same as your
extension.

Ok did that and still nothing....it is the weirdest thing. No fax machine ever rings and no error message it just poof and gone.
and when look in Queue for Nortel Fax empty.

do you have internal 4 digit fax machines on your PBX? if so can you get to one of them just dialing the ext and not externally?

I have tried that same on by just dialing 8630 since that is the 4 digit DID. There are others I can try too but I have to no avail.

will it ring a regular 4 digit extension not necessarily a fax machine? (picking it up you should hear modem squeal)This way we will know if it is even getting out of the CP. Make sure the system is not inserting a 9 in front when you try.

When you print to your Nortel fax do you enter that entire string for the fax number? Does it add the 9? I enter 5025 as that is my fax did extension - I don't put anything else. What do you get if you only enter the 4 digit extension for the fax machine?

I put the 9 since have to do so to get out....I have tried 4 digit interoffice as well.
