Callcentric SIP CallerID and IP Office

Can anyone explain how to do this?

My Callcentric provider has now allowed CallerID to be sent on SIP trunks. You have to just verify that your cell, or other line is yours before you can do it, which I did, and the instructions they send only say the following:

Send the Caller ID number of a DID on your account or an already verified number within the SIP INVITE message of an outbound call. To do so, have your IP PBX attach any of the following headers which are supported by most IP PBX's (check your vendor's documentation for support) to your outbound calls:
P-ASSERTED-IDENTITY
P-PREFERRED-IDENTITY
REMOTE-PARTY-ID

When we receive an outbound call from your IP PBX with any of the above headers, and that header includes a Caller ID number that is a DID on your account OR has been verified on your account we will pass that as the outbound caller ID for that call; over-riding any settings on your Callcentric account preferences.

SIP can't send caller ID, but if you put it into the User SIP field and send User data instead of Authorization data then it will get sent through, but if I am wrong then I am very happy as my SIP provider let's me send what ever I like but I have not found a way to do so.

Add SIP URI's;

Instead off "Use Authentication Name" put the number you have.

Change the "Outgoing Group" point the ARS to the SIP line.

Or do what Westi said change "Use Authentication Name" to "User Data" then on the User you have a new "SIP" Tab.

Then put the number in "SIP Name, SIP Display Name, Contact"

This may not work. Are we sure that the IPO updates the SIP fields mentioned above? I believe all the IPO does with the SIP name in the User record into the From SIP header (not the SIP headers listed above). A monitor may show if this is true.

It all depends on the Provider, done this on 1 provider overhere a several times. They run a Asterisk over fibre straight to the customer.

I think i've missread the question, so you want to sent the calling CLI (ICLID) to your mobile? Or do you want to sent different DID numbers to the outside world?

Sending ICLID on SIP is not supported yet.

PhoneGuyNJ,

Simple solution, provided you've completed the Callcentric process to allow the caller ID to be sent:

On the SIP Line configured for Call Centric, go to the SIP URI Tab:

1. EDIT the existing SIP URI which should be set to "Use Authentication Name" for "Local URI", "CONTACT", and "DISPLAY NAME" and make the OUTGOING group something like 99999 (so it does not match your ARS).

2. ADD a new SIP URI, and this time in "Local URI", "CONTACT", and "DISPLAY NAME" manually enter the caller ID you want to send (ie: 9735551212 or 19735551212). Then set the OUTGOING group to match your ARS (this would be the value you had in the original URI tab in step 1). For consistency, make the INCOMING group the same as what you set the OUTGOING group in step 1 (in my example, 99999).

Quote "with any of the following headers:"

P-ASSERTED-IDENTITY
P-PREFERRED-IDENTITY
REMOTE-PARTY-ID

IPO does not send any of the above. You will have to ask the provider to accept the caller id in "Contact" field or Alias. The Alias is usually a name so the contact is what most providers accept.

I have played with the URI and it basically shuts down my service because the IP office changes the Authentication, and doesnt seem to use any of the above, unless I am missing something.

Not change the original, but add a new URI.

But what I am saying, is I dont think URI uses the headers that the provider details. I know the providor wont change it just for me! :)

The IPO will not send what your provider is looking for, but you can at least try what the others are saying. Post a sip trace for more detailed info.

I will do that, and post this evening. Thanks to all!

Actually, just an FYI... CallWithUs will allow you to control the outgoing CLID. I use them. I can see what extension is calling at least....

you probably use the user data in the URI, I used to do that in the beginning with my home system until someone told me that I call from the kitchen, LOL.
