Call Pilot 100 Install - newbie question 2

Newbie question for Call Pilot 100 on CICS 7.1.

The installation says to connect to station ports but I am not sure which station ports these are? I have the 66 block on the wall, 5 phone sets (ext.), and 3 phone lines. I am not sure where to punch the port 1 and 2 on the 66 block.

Any help is appreciated.

DigitelID - Thanks for the fast reply. I do have the CP CD manual but the part that I don't understand since it's my first time installing the CP is:

"Connect the other end of the TCM cables to station ports on your telephone system"?

Can you shine some light on this?

TCM is actually the system ports. My recommendation to you is that you get a vendor to help you install.

So if my CCR is set to answer at extension 230 I would connect the TCM to ext 230 on the 66 block?

I just thought that there is a general punch down line that makes all the lines be picked up by the CP.

All you need are the system ports. You program the lines to be answered by AA. Trust me here, call a vendor. It will cost you some money but it would be worth it.

I am trying to see if I can handle this simple install first before calling a vendor. If all fails then i have no other choice.

I don't know what this system port is, on my CICS I have 2 50-pin connectors that I have amphenol running in and then on top of it I have the Serial port. I don't have no other "system port". Is it on a 66 block or on the CICS itself?

On a standard CICS, you have 16 station (extension) ports extended from the phone system to a 66 block on an amphenol cable.

To be honest, DigitelD is right. Unless you have had some experience as a phone tech, you'll be better served to call a tech, and stand over his shoulder if you want to learn. There is a correct way to cross connect and terminate cables, and if done improperly, though it may work for a while, will give you endless headaches in the long run.

It is not that we don't want to help you but we can go on and on till Jesus comes with problems that you might have when trying to this for yourself. I am a huge believer in reading the docs and getting help when needed. But the help that you need is a tech to come onsite and train you in person. Then when that is done you have Tek-Tips to use as a resource.

You need to terminate 2 X 25pair amphenoles cable to the god for saken Americans still using vintage 66 block crap lol.

Hey guys thanks for the responses.

Curlycord - I did terminate the 2 25 par amphenol going from the CICS to the 66 block. CICS is fully functional and working. I also did the music on hold!

I am only stuck on this CallPilot 100. I have Port A (1, 3) and Port B (2, 4) on top of the ethernet plug. I am not sure where to terminate Port A and Port B to? Does it terminate on the 66 block for the extensions and if so which extension needs to be used? If someone could just tell me where to terminate those two that would solve my misery!

I think I have found my own answer from one of the previous posts in history thanks guys.

If it's a Call Pilot 100, using 2 RJ11 plugs, connect Port A from Call Pilot to port 0115 of the CICS and Port B from Call Pilot to port 0116.

Yes thats what we normaly do to save room for phones before as not to disturb the sequence of future DNs

Actually, if you had an older Flash VM, you'd be right. On the call pilot, you actually get 2 ext's per port. (to total 4 vm channels per)

On an RJ-11, you have 4 contacts. The center pair will connect to port 115, and the outside pair will connect to port 116.

To make it easier, use a standard 4 wire phone jack. Wire port 115 to the red and green terminals. Wire port 116 to the yellow and black terminals. Use a 4 wire basecord to connect your 2 extension jack to port A on the Call Pilot.
