I have a CICS with CP 100 and when we call in, Voice Mail front, I enter the extension, and after being told by the prompt, "one moment please" only to be told "you have entered an invalid extension using the dail pad...." at this time I re-enter the extension and it then rings at the desk. I've unplugged and re-plugged both the CICS and the CP.

Any Idea?

Does this happen every time or is it intermittent? Does it matter which extension you enter or whether the calls originat from outside or inside? This is a common problem if the caller is using a speaker phone in a noisy location or if they take too long to enter the complete extension.

everytime, I've tested it over 30 times, all extensions. I've even entered the extension immediately and waited a few seconds for the AA message to start.

Nothing happens when we log in F983 1020000 press 8, nothing?

First thing that I would do is to hook up a butt set on the incoming trunk and listen to the digits that you are receiving from telco and make sure that they are clean and not clipped.

listened in the voicemail, digit are crisp, ports are active, changed ports location, changed linecords for the voicemail, each mailbox have been active and in use.

Noticed when I call in that on the main port, once the voicemail picks up the call, a hiss similar to a non filtered DSL kicks in, I hear the avtive port, but this sound kicks in when the voicemail answers the call

because it only has 8 mailboxes with AA, I may simply reconfigure the voicemail and see if the bug get's cleared.

This update where to find it???? At my supplier???

No answer to the problem but we backed up the voicemail, reinstalled and the problem was gone, installed the back up and the problem came back??????

And so in this case, I'd love to track down the real problem, but because it's on my meter, then reinstall and re-program the 8 voicemail with AA is a lot faster.

Thanks for all your help

Very strange. I've never heard of a corrupt database causing that sort of trouble.

Understood. I'd just not have thought an original corrupt database would have caused this trouble to begin with.

No my question marks were more "misteries of the world" I as a rule don't like scrapping and starting over without figuring it out, but in this case, it solved the problem and only cost me 6 hours of my time.

Thank you all
