G3r V11. We have problem where some users are calling some ext directly that should not be. I have changed these misc. ext to display the main help desk number but some how a few people seem to be able to see thier true identity.

The call disp button would be used with your directory. You would press directory, then programmed next button(on 7400 series) or the next button on 8400,6400 series sets, and then call-disp to place that call. I am not sure on the inspect button.

If you put a non-alphanumeric character, such as '*' or '\' as the first character in the name field it will not be displayed when using the directory feature.

The inspect button was used "back in the day" for the user with display to see who the second caller was while talking with the first. Now a days it's used to display the port.

Hope this helps

If you are on a call and you get another call, the caller id will only flash for a second. If you missed the ID, you can press Inspect and it will show you the display for the new appearance.

Is there some way an end user can unmask the caller ID?
