I have a 1608 IP phone with programmed busy-ind button. The problem is that the button does not flash when a call comes to extension number programmed on the button. When the user pick up the phone light on the button turns green. What may be the reason that the busy-ind button is not blinking when the phone rings?
Regards
Tomasz

Busy indicator only lights when the phone is off-hook, it will not inidicate that the extension is ringing.

Is it on the IP phones only? It seems to me that for digital phones busy-ind button blinking when extension ringing...

You're not confusing busy indicators with bridged appearances are you?

We're using Digital and IP phones here, busy indicator doesn't flash on our digital phones when extension is ringing.

Unless there is a setting somewhere that I'm unaware of to make the busy indicator flash when ringing.

Is your system an IP Office system?

My customer, which I wrote about earlier, have installed CM 4.0. After your post, I made a test with another customer on CM 5.2.1 - also a LED not blinking the button "busy-ind" when other phone is ringing. I performed test on the IP Office - "busy-ind" button blinking when ringing another phone.
It's a good idea to do this using bridged appearances.
Thanks for the advice.

I would caution using bridged appearances. This allows the person to use the extension and make calls from the other person's extension and pickup and listen to calls in progress. It also would only be an indicator for the first call appearance, unless you put one for every appearance on the phone.
