I have a secretary answering calls for an executive while he is away from his desk. Is it possible to change the ring tone so she can distinguish between his calls and her own?

Thanks!

I believe that "per button control" for the call appearance with do that.

"Per button ring control" allows you to change the ring behavior of a bridged appearence (abbreviated ring, delay ring, no ring, or ring). It does not let you change the personalized ringing pattern to determine if the call is from your own station or a bridged appearence.

(I wish it did; I would not hear this complaint from certain staff members anymore!)

Susan, I change the station form to say "Y" in per button ring control, do you know how to control it to do an abbreviated ring or delay ring? Thanks!

On page 3 where you assign the buttons in the Rg= field place a=abbrv d=delayed n= no ring r=ring.

Hope this helps

Ok, I'm testing and rings from both extensions sound exactly the same, am I doing something wrong? I've tried many combinations on both station sets! Thanks for your help!

BUTTON ASSIGNMENTS
1: call-appr Auto-A/D? n Rg:r
2: call-appr Auto-A/D? n Rg:r
3: call-appr Auto-A/D? n Rg:r

22: brdg-appr Btn:1 Ext:1234 Rg:a
23: brdg-appr Btn:2 Ext:1234 Rg:a
24: brdg-appr Btn:3 Ext:1234 Rg:a

The ring pattern is the same , except it will be delayed or abbreviated. Like Susan mentioned. The change in the pattern is slightly different.

I'm testing every possible scenario and the rings are exactly identical without delay's my switch is CM 2.0 or Version 12, maybe that's the difference? I also don't know what Audo- A/D? means. I appreciate all of your help, I'm still stumped on this one.

Is the Bridge call alerting set to yes, it will be on the second tab?

Change the station ringing to continuous, this might help you notice the difference in the ring tones. Do you have the option on the station as above like Susan mentioned?

call-apr auto a/d? N rgr:r

on the secondary phone

brdg-appr auto a/d? a rgr:a

Elvia,

Thank you and everyone so much for all the ideas. It's just not working! The secretary just might put in a 2nd phone and do it that way and work with 2 phones side by side hers then the other with bridged appearance.

Thank you all again for your help!

Toni- if you've been listening to it all day they might start sounding the same. Leave it as is and give it a day and see if she notices a difference in the tones of the ring pattern. I just tested it on my phone. I added a bridge appearance set to rngr:a and all the call apr set to rgr r. The ring pattern is 1. I could see the difference in the tones.
