I have been getting the Blue Screen of Death in XP Pro, for the first time, and I believe it may be due to the recent install of Symantec's Internet Security 2004. The message reads:
Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal
Stop 0x000000D1 (0x0000002c, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xeef97715)
Symredrv. sys - Address eef977y5 Base at eef9700, datestamp 3f52c8ee
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and had a BSOD immediately again. I am running on a Dell Dimension 8200 networked to another 8200 and an Inspiron 5100. Both of the other machines have had no BSOD's and are running the Symantec product. But this machine is the Internet portal for the network. Otherwise the setup on both 8200's is the same. I did a diagnostic all last night on memory, disk and so on...but no errors reported. Any ideas? I am, if BSOD's persist, thinking about rolling back to Internet Security 2003 and seeing what happens. Of course, there is no mention of this problem on Symantec's site.
Thanks.
