Does anyone know a way around Nortel's daily changing password to get access to the root prompt. I need to access the CDR folder to delete some files.
Thanks.

yes.
I tried calling Nortel and I can't open a case without a valid contract (even though it's a problem that ONLY they can fix).
NONSENSE!

As far as I know, it's not possible to access the system at a higher level such as nnsupport as it's based on the systems site ID and the date, which I'm sure you know.

The only advice I can offer you is to revert the date to when you last had a passcode for the nnsupport access account and see if it will work?.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Unfortunately I do not have a past password.
Thanks for the input though.

Has anyone seen the nnsupport password? Is it all numbers / letters... will using it give access to the linux OS BCM is running on? I have a BCM that has no support on it anymore and I want to get in to it.

Thanks

There are two versions of nnsupport. The main method just uses the 16 digit code that Avaya generates to be used with that high level account. i.e.

system id - 4303EC0D0000
BCM 4.0, M50 R2 and M50 R3 Password of the Day
System ID: 4303EC0D0000

Date Password

As you can see above, it's not going to be easy to crack!.

The second method uses the BCM password reset tool that Avaya have produced. This still requires them to know your systems ID and date etc as they will generate a file that you have to load into the tool. I've never used it.
