We have an option 11c with succession 3.0 and have a tie line to an Avaya pbx. For some reason when I dial the Route access code (8445) and the Avaya extension (5960) the Avaya pbx sees 1596 as the digits coming across the channel. When I trace the channel I see 5960 as the digits dialed.

Any ideas?

Thanks

opt 11 may not have the entc command in 60, if that t is pri you can enl msgo x in ld 96 on the d and catch the problem.. you can trad the trunk in ld 80.. i would try dsel vce on the route, that is sending a leading 1

The VCE fixed the leading 1 however when calls come in in the T1 i am unable to route them out of the pbx either thru a pri or back across the T1. I get a fast busy when a call arrives from the Avaya pbx and I try to route the call off site. FYI i am routing the call in Symposium with a command of ROUTE CALL 91800$%^&*(

the ncos of the trunk needs to be the same ncos of a set that is allowed to make that call, routing back to the same route is seldom a good idea and blocked in about a dozen places. it cause loops, if allowed, i dial 1000, and send it to your avaya, the avaya sends it to me so i send it back.. the caller gets a busy after all trunks are busy. if possible use ld 87 new cdp dsc to route calls as opposed to acod.. makes for a cleaner set up

the ncos is the same and i am able to route calls from AT&T pri's across Grande Pri's with the ROUTE CALL command however I cant take a call from the Avaya and ROUTE CALL across the Grande Pri's.

make sure the targ on the two routes don't match,,

only other thing i could think of and it's a long shot, are all three internal or external and does the pni numbers match and is the pni in your cdb?>.. choices are getting thin.. you've covered everything i can think of. your using the route call command, back up to one box and route a call across the problem spans via dial pad, trouble sounds like a switch only problem, but verify that

Problem solved. For some strange reason I had to assign a Targ in the Tie route and the trunk to trunk transfer worked. It is strange how my DID routes have no targ assigned and they have no problem with a trunk to trunk transfer.
Thanks for your help John.

Bryanata,

DO you have the programming for the T-1 on the NORTEL side, and the AVAYA side ?

i have a t1 to an avaya, but it's qsig.. if you need it let me know

John Poole , at this time I do not have QSIG. Can this be set up another way ?

yes, but i don't have a copy of that pri, ni2 interface will not work, i would check the emulation on the avaya side, they need to enulate something is nortels list, any of the bellcore standards should work. do you have the link built and in yellow alarm? until that happens your not testing software. your end should come up green to a loop back and yellow to the far end, then you know you have a interface type problem, not a layer one

John,
Heres what I have now, The T-1 is a non PRI no D channel. The Funny thing is that the AVAYA side can call me over the T, but when I dial the access code of 447(trunk code) and the four digit extension. It sounds like I get dial tone from the AVAYA, then I get re order tone. Like I said I will finally be going to 3.0. We move very slow in this company. But I would like to get this working before tjat.

chg that prompt to no. then build a dsc to the avaya instead of dialing the acod

Thanks John, I had already set up a DSC to the rli.(for testing) Unfortunatly the AVAYA side uses the same DID range as we do so I will be unable to send all the extensions over CDP. I set the prompt to NO, and I still get the re order tone even if I dail the CDP or the ACOD with the extension. What you think should I drop back and punt , and wait for rel 3.0. Can the problem be on the AVAYA side ?

if i had a leading digit i would use that, here i send 6 plus to the avaya switch, they send 4 plus to me.. there did range is xx6 mine is xx4. the problem could be on either side.. add a tgar, i've seen that cause a probelm with this interface. (shot int he dark) out all the trunks except 1, ld 80 trad 24 1.. you can see the digits being sent... DSEL 3VCE .. that may need to be vod, chg it but if the symptoms don't change, change it back.. i would test a few more things, even add a d if the ckt can't wait for the upgrade... i have the same trouble, hosp can spend 50k on new chairs for the waiting rooms but alomst died when i need a 100k for a symposium.. we got it, took over a year

I work for a health care company, they never seem to have any money in the budget for the voice side. Oh Well. Thanks John I will try your next things. I will be in touch

strange how the data side needs a new 50k server and the same manager tells them to get a spare and the voice side gets by with string and dixie cups, same story for any type business

John another fact about that. The data network can go down anytime of the day and it is acceptable, lose dial tone for a second and all heXX breaks loose.
