Has anyone configured non Avaya SIP phones with Avaya S8710 or S8720? If so, what was needed on the PBX and what vendor was the SIP phone. Thanks for the help
although i didn't do it myself, i did see cisco ip phones with sip firmware hanging off avaya media server. nice looks, you know. to do it, you need to install sip enablement services server (formerly known as ccs), purchase some sip user licenses, sip trunk licenses and so on. afaik ses uses sip v2 which is more or less standard so there should be no major issues with most sip phones. to be sure, you can check it with avaya, they have special laboratory testing program.
