Can anybody confirm whether the Avaya 1616 (700451933), is compatible with the Quick Edition. It is on the QE price list but in practise I am not sure whether this will work.

Thank you.

The QE version of the 1616 will work, the standard 1616 won't, so be careful which one you order.

TBH, I'd avoid the QE like the plague, especially as I hear rumours that avaya are withdrawing them in the near future. Obviously, if this for an existing site, you are stuck with QE, but I'd suggest you quote for something else

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Hi mattKinight, we just got authorization to sell QuickEdition and we tried it here and it seems to be a good product. Do you mean that Avaya are planning to take this product off?

Thanks

Yes they are

I wish they would take that product and buy it back from all customers we have it installed on, they are painful and you have no troubleshooting options. You can't dial in and so the even most basic troubleshooting is a PITA.
My recommendation: stay as far away as you can form it. I told our sales guys that the next to sell it will get hurt.

They do make great doorstops, or flash the phones to make them normal IP Phones, basically they are good for anything other than being a phone system.
