Hi everyone,

I have a used IP406 Office and it doesn't work. I am trying to erase the flash configuration because I don't have access to the previous username and password information. I've followed the instructions on the DTE Port Maintenance guide but after I put the command AT-X2, instead of the control unit responding with 0x0200C000H Erase, I get Sector 2 Erase (NV Config). If I continue by putting the command AT-X3, I get Sector Erases (Config) followed by OK (03) OK (04) OK (05) instead of 0x02001000H Erase. My IP406 Office also has a red light on the center LED whenever I put have it on the Loader message, but there is no red light if I just turn it on by itself without pressing the esc key.

Afterward, if I connect the IP406 Office to the IP Office Manager, it still has the previous owner's set up. I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't erase the flash configuration properly.

This is my first time dealing with this kind of problem and I'd really appreciate it if you all could give me some support on this. Thanks!

Regards,

Paul

There is a easy way to retrieve the login credentials although I never published it before as Avaya asked me not to.
But as these systems aren't sold anymore and it doesn't work on current systems I will publish it.

What you need :
A IP 400 system with software level 3.1 or lower
Manager R3.1 or lower
Deltaserver software
The IP Address of the IP Office
A MS Windows XP SP3 pc
A password reveiler like Snadboy

What to do:
Install the DeltaServer on the PC and connect it to the IP Office.
What will happen?
The DeltaServer connects to the IP Office and saves a offline config in its working directory.
This file can be opened in manager off line and you'll seen the login passwords a stars *****
use Snadboy to reveil the passwords.

In higher levels you can use the AT command SECURITYRESETALL to restore security settings te default.
Then you can access the system with the default Administrator credentials.
You als can let the IP Office run to normal operation and with a serial cannection type "at-debug" then type "erasenvconfig" and after that type "eraseconfig" and finally type "reboot"
it will reboot with a default factory config.
