Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has any notes or can point me in the right direction for an IP Office customer that is looking to replace Voicemail Pro with Exchange 2010 with UMS roles.

I have configured UMS via power users with MAPI and Outlook for synching up messages on the phone and Outlook inbox, but never a direct SIP connection. I am trying to work with their Microsoft vendor, but I have no notes on any of this. I have searched old threads and it looks like some say that a direct connection is possible from R8.0 and on with no audiocodes gateway needed.

Anyone have anything on this or notes from a working environment...?

THANK YOU!

Cheers - CS

Do you mean so you can just use the silly "play on phone" feature in outlook?

It should be pretty simple.

You just have to make sure the IPO IP address is in the Exchange as a trusted gateway. From there is extremely basic SIP trunking.

It's pretty smooth.

I will look to see what notes I have.

We tried this and don't think it is possible direct to Exchange. If I remember from our playing (over 3 years ago mind!), Exchange want to move the posts from 5060 to 5065 (??) which the IPO cannot handle. You will need some kind of gateway to help.

You do need Enterprise exchange also I seem to remember.

We use a Tenor DX series with QSIG to IP Office and Voicemail Pro to handle over to UM, works perfectly.

Thanks everyone. Does anyone have notes on any of the scenarios? I am curious how you programmed the voicemail coverage for users and groups to go to exchange, etc.

Thanks,

They still use VMPRO for the control of coverage of users/groups. It uses MAPI to talk to Exchange, which really is just the store for the messages. I'm not sure I've seen a complete implementation of IPO using *just* Exchange.

I have used the MAPI UMS with IPO and Exchange, but was more curious about the direct SIP connection via a customer/vendor request.

TheMitelGuy - It sounds like you were able to do this. Do you have any notes or memories from what it takes to make this happen?
