I have obtained some avaya 4621sw, they have a Vlan of 4 on them, the DHCP just keeps counting. Can not access local procedures to clear settings (no * to program). I've had this problem in the past and set up ports on a hub for the vlan its requesting with the Ip office and manger set up on the same Vlan, and it would download it's text files, so i could clear all settings. These phones don't even pull DHCP. I even ran on a tftp server that supplys Dhcp address's and i get nothing across the tftp log screen. But if I put a phone on it not from this group of phones it pulls a ip adress from the dhcp server. Is there something I can do that would correct this issue on the phones. Thanks in advanced!

What is your DHCP server? Is it on the same VLAN? What type of switch are you using?

I was using the the DHCP off the ip office, it is on the same vlan as the phones and manger are. Also if i ran tftpd32 set up to get dhcp from it on the same vlan, the phones will not pull dhcp, other phones not from these will pull a dhcp from the tftpd32. Thanks for your reply!

Try wireshark so you can see what it is requisting.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

TFTPD32 is a TFTP server, so I don't believe any phones did or ever will get DHCP from it.....:)

Unless it does DHCP also, the issue will be the VLANS stuck on the handsets if that's the case :)

it DOES supply DHCP according to their webpage.
Cool to know :) thanks hotelmotelpatel

I always use tftpd64 as I need a DHCP server, you can even set scope options.

isn't that the same just 64 bit?
