Usually when a handset is idle the red light on the first Call Appearance button is lit indicating if you pick up the handset or speakerphone it will put you to that button. On my last couple of installs I have noticed that red light is lit on a Line Appearance button not the Call Appearance button so if I pick up the handset or speakerphone I am going out on a Line.

Is there anywhere in programming that I can change this and go back to having the Call Appearance button as the default line selected not the Line Appearance?

Thanks.

The default in Basic mode is to grab the first line appearance. In IP Office mode, it would be a call appearance.

What's that? Your paging doesn't work?! Just get yourself a good bullhorn..problem solved!

The systems in question both have Essential Edition licences and are in IP Office mode. The phones have a combination of call appearance and line appearance buttons. Is their anyway to change the selection back to call appearance?

Don't use line appearances!
It will break all the nice features that you can use.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks guys. I'm starting to see that Line Appearances are what's messing me up.

Question: How do you guys get around if a client wants to pick up on a specific line. I recently had a residential client that had 2 home numbers, a business line for the husband and a line for the cottage. I set up the phones with 2 call appearances and 4 line appearances so they could select which line they want. How would you guys set up the IPO so that the husband can specifically select his business line or someone could select line 2 for the home?

If you put your intercom buttons as button 1 and 2 and then your lines as 3,4,5,6 it will grab the Intercom first.
