Is there a way to set the "Auto-Start service when OS starts" property to True (checked) using the Command prompt?

..similiar to net start mssql$instance_name

maybe there's something in SQL Server RK, similar to autostart command in W2K RK.

Why not just set this in Services to start automatically?

I need to do this for Windows 98 installation using MSDE.

i found this on one of the websites:

how do i find what this means?

sqlservr -c -s instancename in "binn" folder

-c tells SQL Server to not run as a service.
-s instancename uses an alternate registry key name (I've got no idea what that actually means).

I believe that to start SQL Server on Windows 98 you need to put sqlservr -c into the startup group since Windows 98 doesn't have services like Windows 2000/XP.
