I have an auto attendant set up in vmpro. I can access this with no problem using the short code I set.

Shortcode *90
Feature Voicemail Collect
Telephone Number "AutoAttendant"

When I set an incoming call route (SIP trunk), I get a recording "You have reached a non-working number".
(I have set this number to an extension, and the call completes, so I know it's good number)

Destination is set to Voicemail:AutoAttendant

Can someone please tell me what I am missing? Thanks!

Duh...I just set the incoming call route to the shortcode. Works like a charm.

The short code works, or you can use VM:AutoAttendant in the ICR. Spelling and case must match exactly to the VM module name.

Another slight issue I am having now. I got the calls routing to the auto attendant now. I have it checking a condition (time of day), then transferring based on true or false. Both transfers are hunt groups. When I call from outside, the call doesn't go to the hunt group members, it goes directly to the mailbox for the hunt group. How do I make it go to the phones?

I have the specific tab destination set to the hunt lead number (30000).

Lead number? You pick the HG from the dropdown or enter the extn number of the HG.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I put 30000 in the destination, which is the hunt group. It will only go to the hunt group voice mailbox, not the phones.

Just to check a theory what happens if you turn voicemail off for the group ..... or as a really simple test point it to a phone with no VM enabled , trace the call in SSA and monitor and post your results , I suspect you have a small config error in your call flow.

Thanks for the replies. I have everything working now. I think my main issue was hunt groups in 'night mode'. I had forgotten about adding night buttons to some phones, and apparently they had used those buttons. Once I took the hunt groups out of night mode, it worked the way it should.

For a full time autoattendant I prefer to use the VM:XXXX method of sending the call to voicemail instead of a short code because you can create a Hunt Group XXXX that will ring if Voicemail Pro goes offline.

I usually use VM:VM_Down and create a Hunt Group called VM_Down. This way the customer self diagnoses the problem when they complain about seeing VM_Down on their phones. Customers are also far more tolerant of a voicemail outage than they are of not getting any inbound calls at all.
