Auto Attendant basics

Hello,

I am new to the IP office platform and have a general question about configuring an Auto Attendant. The system I've inherited has numerous Auto Attendant "modules" set up and I need to know how to determine which one is active. For example, the main Auto Attendant has what looks like numerous versions listed in the Module list with minor differences. I know that only one of them is actually running and the others are not being used. How do you "match up" the incoming number on the PBX side and tell it to hit the specific Module on the Auto Attendant side?

I can see on the PBX side that the incoming # is defined as Line Group 0, and the destination is "autoattendant", but how does it decide which Auto Attendant module to pick?

I'm sure this is an easy one for most of you.

Each one should be spelled differently as you should not be able to save different modules under the same name. So look for the one that matches your destination exactly.
 
Yes, they are each have different names, but I do not see those names anywere corresponding to the incoming line.

If I have an incoming line 555-1234 and I want it to hit an Auto Attendant module "Module 1234" how do I match the two up?
 
I always set up my destination in my incoming call route to go to VM:ModuleName. With ModuleName of course matching the desired module name exactly. So for your example it would simply be VM:Module 1234. If yours is set up as "autoattendant" maybe it is set up as a shortcode. Try looking in the system shortcodes for something that says autoattendant. Maybe that will point you to the correct module.
 
check your shortcodes, you may see your incoming call route 5551234 sent (destination) to a shortcode where the

TelephoneNumber=Module1234
Feature=VoicemailNode

This way you can call the shortcode and test your application
 
When I look in the Incoming Call route I see destination "Attentant" beside the line number.

I then go to the short codes list and look for an entry called "Attendant" and I see:
Code: Attendant
Telephone number: Attendant
Feature: VoiceMailNode

If I reference that against my Module list, there is no module called "Attendant". They are all names like "DayMenu", "NightMenu", etc.

I am still unable to see any reference to my Module names in the voicemail side on the PBX side in order to match things up.

I can connect to other IP office sites and I see the same thing when I look at them. Every time I look up a phone number that I know hits and Auto Attendant, the Incoming Call route always simply says "Attendant"

If you call the number do you get to an auto attendant or do you go to a hunt group? You might check there also to see if you have a group called Attendant. You can also open up Call Status and watch as you call to see if that gives you any clue where it is going.
 
in voicemail pro, check on the topside, under the Specific Start Points, expand the shortcodes there, thats where you put modules that start from a shortcode
 
jm2665 - that was the answer. I expanded the "short codes" menu under the "specific start points" heading in voicemail pro and found the right one. The "attendant" module in this list basically goes through a date and time check and then proceeds to link up with the appropriate day/night greeting from the main modules list.

Not sure why the vendor chose to set it up this way, but I can find my way through it now from start to finish.
