Is there a way to set up AUTHCODES for TOLLFREE numbers. i have been successful in setting up AUTHCODES for Long Distance numbers but am struggling to find a way for Toll Free numbers.

Out of curiosity, why Auth codes for toll free....if they are free?

the reason for authcodes on toll free numbers is for tracking purposes. this way i can run a report on the authcode to determine how many calls were made to a particular 800. the client is requesting this. i know it sounds like overkill and it is but that is what they want.

if all your calls go out over the same route than point the tollfree numbers to the same rli as a number that requires an authcode.

There are also toll-free numbers that route to 'pay for' services and can bill back on your LEC invoice. The 'call' is free, but the 'information' is not.

what you'll need to do is build a new rlb in load 86, just use a vacant rlb/rli use the same route that they use today, make the frl the same as the rlb's that you use auth codes on now, i assume they are the rlb's that your ld point to.. the mfrl needs to be the same as the present ld route... then go to 90 and print the spn's of all your 1800/1888/1877 etc then change them to the new rlb..

you could just point those to the same rlb as your ld's, but that would put them on the ld carrier, most cases you want those calls going to the local route.. so the new rlb will be the same as your ld route, all prompts except the route...

another thing to consider is a new class of auth codes that moves the ncos to a lower number, not being in your software, here's the way mine is set up... class 3 changes your ncos to 7 (int allow) class 2 changes your ncos to 5 (ld allow) class 1 changes your class to ncos 3 ( 411 and toll free allow) by setting that up we have a record of call length and what dept to charge to. our information was running 8000 a month before the change... tracking 800 from non admin users keeps some people off the phone all day... 6000 users and 400 trunks, we don't want to add more pri's if we don't have to...
